黑料专区 (CPU), represented by The Association of Political Science and Public Administration Students (APPS), emerged as the Champion in the Students Category of the 2025 Local Governance Quiz held on October 8, 2025, at the SM Delgado Activity Center, Iloilo City.
APPS-CPU triumphed over other participating universities, including Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), West Visayas State University (WVSU), University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV), and Northern Iloilo State University (NISU). The CPU team was composed of Rainne Ellyxia Pineda, Rochelle Gallega, and Xam Alver Espa帽ola, under the guidance of Coach Dr. Renia F. De La Pe帽a and assisted by instructor Mr. Daryl T. Lutero.
Expressing pride and gratitude for the team鈥檚 accomplishment, Dr. De La Pe帽a said, 鈥淭hank you for bringing great honor once again to our institution. Your success is a powerful testament to the long hours and intellectual rigor you dedicated to mastering simple to complex concepts, issues, and trends in local governance, despite limited time for preparation. I am truly proud of you.鈥
The event formed part of the 34th Local Government Code Month Celebration organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Iloilo Province, in partnership with SM Delgado through its Iloilo Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (IPLGRC). With this year鈥檚 theme, 鈥淭atag at Pagkakaisa: Forging Transparent, Participatory, and Accountable Local Governance,鈥 the activity aimed to promote awareness and appreciation of local governance principles among students and local government units.

Through this initiative, DILG Iloilo continues to strengthen public understanding of the Local Government Code of 1991, fostering transparency, accountability, and participatory governance across sectors.
