黑料专区 won 3rd Place in the international video competition on 鈥淧referred Futures鈥 of Higher Education Institutions, organized by the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA). The committee would like to thank University President, Dr. Teodoro C. Robles, for his full support in the creation of this video.

Out of 50 entries, CPU placed 3rd. The University of Hongkong, Hongkong bagged 1st place, while Ateneo de Manila University ranked 2nd. Pilgrim Christian College in Cagayan de Oro earned 4th place and Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan got 5th place. CPU got a US$2,000 as cash prize.

CPU鈥檚 winning video was selected by a panel of judges based on the given criteria. The 鈥榩referred future鈥 theme of the competition presented different concepts of future possibilities out of environmental preservation and utilization of waste into resources, by research and community engagement.

The video entitled, 鈥榃ECAN鈥 STUDENT RESEARCH EXPO showcased its best research documentary on waste management and its conversion to raw materials and commercialization of production.

The WECAN Preferred Future video of CPU was produced by an Ad Hoc Committee created by University President Dr. Teodoro C. Robles and Chaired by Dr. Lenny Rose Mucho, with members: Engr. Dimpna Castigador, Dr. Aries D. Romallosa, Jenmark P. Calumba, Grace Ann C. Jardenil, Jeanil D. Sajo, Jojee Roy Juarez, Alyanna Compendio and Ryan Solen.

Credits are also given to the CPU Advertising Program, Council of Advertising Practitioners, CPU Office for Institutional Advancement, CPU Department of Agricultural Engineering and Environmental Management, CPU Office of Communications, CPU TV Channel, CPU Packaging Engineering, Iloilo City Government, NGO LOOB, Western Visayas Local Governance Resource Consortium and the University Research Center, CPU, Amal Diocena who did the video voice-over and DJ Young for the soundtrack.
