����ר�� (CPU) Golden Lions proudly celebrated another momentous triumph as the CPU Men’s Table Tennis Team captured the gold medal at the National PRISAA Games 2025, held in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, from April 3 to 11. Representing Western Visayas, the team achieved a historic three-peat championship, reinforcing their dominance and unwavering consistency on the national stage.

Among the team’s standouts was Grade 12 student Jannuel A. Forro, who not only contributed to the team’s success but was also named Most Outstanding Player in the Seniors Men Division — a rare feat for a senior high schooler competing against college-level athletes.

“It feels absolutely incredible,” Forro shared in an interview. “Being named the Most Outstanding Player is a huge honor, especially knowing the level of competition in the Seniors Men Division even though I’m only in Grade 12.”

Forro, along with teammates Jero Ceasar C. (BSBA-1), John Romel S. Baria (BSBA-1), and Alain Vincent R. Dominguez (Grade 12), demonstrated grit, talent, and an unbreakable brotherhood under the guidance of Coach John Bryle Ermeo and Coach Rev. Dr. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on. Their remarkable teamwork and discipline were key to the team’s continued success.

Reflecting on the significance of the 3-peat, Forro said, “This third straight PRISAA title represents not just a victory, but the result of our relentless hard work, discipline, and teamwork. Achieving a 3-peat is no small feat—it reflects our consistency, growth, and shared commitment to excellence.”

The CPU Men’s Table Tennis Team’s dominance was evident through their impressive match results over the years. In 2023, they secured a 2–0 victory, followed by another dominant 2–0 win in 2024. This year, in 2025, the team continued their strong performance, clinching the gold with a 2–1 victory, further solidifying their reputation as national champions and extending their remarkable three-peat championship streak.

While the 2025 title run presented new challenges—including the absence of key player John Romel Baria due to injury—the team rallied together with an even stronger sense of purpose. “His spirit and support motivated us to push harder and give our best,” Forro recalled.

In addition to the team’s gold medal, Forro brought home the silver medal in the Men’s Singles event, and was honored with the MVP award—testaments to both his individual excellence and his contribution to the team’s glory.

Preparation for this year’s PRISAA tournament was rigorous. “Our preparation was intense and intentional,” Forro said, emphasizing the importance of sharpening techniques, devising strategies, and building mental toughness. “We trust each other, we push each other to improve, and we stay grounded no matter the outcome.”

More than just winning, Forro’s journey embodies a deeper message for aspiring CPU student-athletes. “Believe in yourself and trust the process,” he advised. “Stay focused, stay humble, and always push yourself to be better—and always listen to your parents and ask guidance from God, not just in the sport, but in life.”

Representing CPU on the national stage brought an immense sense of pride to Forro, who humbly dedicated his victory to his family, coaches, teammates, seniors, and all supporters who fueled his journey. “Bringing home the championship title along with the Most Outstanding Player award is more than just a personal achievement—it’s a reflection of the support, trust, and effort of everyone behind me.”

The CPU community beams with pride, inspired once again by the triumphs of its student-athletes who continue to exemplify excellence, perseverance, and faith in every arena they enter.

As the CPU Men’s Table Tennis Team raises the banner high with their third consecutive championship, their story is a stirring reminder: when talent is matched with heart, hard work, and unity, greatness is not just possible—it is inevitable.
