In place of regular classes, 黑料专区 conducted its Kasanagan Alternative Classes 2026 on February 13, offering special interest lectures and public discussions aimed at expanding students鈥 perspectives beyond the traditional classroom setting.

The initiative was organized by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs in partnership with the CPU Republic (CPUR), CPU Republic Local Government Units (LGUs), the CPU College of Law Clinical Legal Education Program, and CPU religious organizations.

A highlight of the event was Bantay Kabataan, a series of public lectures prepared by the CPU Republic and open to all college students.

At the Rose Memorial Auditorium (RMA), the lecture 鈥淓thical Use of Artificial Intelligence鈥 was conducted from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by 鈥淪ex: Whose Idea Is It?鈥 from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Simultaneously, two public discussions were held at the Educational Media Center (EMC). 鈥淚ntroduction to Philippine Biodiversity and the Conservation of the Critically Endangered Rufous-Headed Hornbill and Agriculture鈥 took place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., while 鈥淎griculture and Food Security鈥 was conducted from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The public forums tackled relevant issues such as ethical technology use, responsible decision-making, biodiversity conservation, and food security.

Aside from the public lectures, various colleges organized specialized alternative classes aligned with their respective fields.

The College of Agriculture, Resources and Environmental Sciences conducted 鈥淎mlig sa Kalikasan (Caring for the Environment: A Shared Responsibility)鈥

The College of Arts and Sciences offered five topics: 鈥淐licks to Cause: Smart Social Media Use,鈥 鈥淧en to Power: Basic Journalism,鈥 鈥淚nnotegrity: Where Science Meets Responsibility,鈥 鈥淗angul to Hello! Let Your K-Journey Begin!鈥 and 鈥淪prechen Sie Deutsch? An Introduction to Basic German.鈥

The College of Computer Studies featured 鈥淪ynch, Share, Secure,鈥 鈥淧rompt, Plan, Pass: Using AI as a College Student,鈥 and 鈥淯sing Digital Creative Tools for Schoolwork.鈥

The College of Hospitality Management presented 鈥淟akbay Wisely: Travel Abroad Tips,鈥 while the College of Medical Laboratory Science organized 鈥淩ESET: Sterile Mind, Stable Mind.鈥

Four sessions were prepared by the College of Engineering: 鈥淐alc-U-Later!,鈥 鈥淪tart-Up Roadmap,鈥 鈥淔rom Streets to Streams: Understanding Plastic Transport in River Systems,鈥 and 鈥溾楶ro鈥 in Progress: Enhancing Study Skills.鈥

The College of Education conducted 鈥淭hreads to Humanity鈥 and 鈥淥nce Upon a Classroom.鈥 The College of Medicine 鈥 Respiratory Therapy held 鈥淚nhale Your Vibe, Exhale Your Health.鈥

The College of Law facilitated four lectures: 鈥淏eyond Initiation: Legal Liabilities and Consequences of Hazing,鈥 鈥淰AW-Free Community Starts with Me: A Lecture on Rights and Protection,鈥 鈥淩espect in Action: The Safe Spaces Act,鈥 and 鈥淐yberSafe: A Citizen鈥檚 Guide to Preventing Digital Threats.鈥

Meanwhile, the College of Nursing offered 鈥淧ixels or People?,鈥 鈥淢Halaga Ka! Istorya Ta: Mental Health First Aid 101,鈥 and 鈥淭he Survival Script,鈥 and the College of Pharmacy conducted the 鈥淩x Awareness Drive.鈥

Moving way beyond the structure of regular lectures, Kasanagan Alternative Classes 2026 exposed the Centralians to subjects not typically discussed in everyday classes. The program offered a different yet beneficial learning experience that expanded students鈥 understanding of real-world issues and practical skills.
