Representatives of Central University and the Hello Friendship Smiles Organization pose for a photo following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding formalizing their cultural partnership.
ºÚÁÏרÇø (CPU) and the Hello Friendship Smiles Organization (HFSO) have officially formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) om September 20, 2026, marking the successful conclusion of the 2026 Cultural Exchange Program.
The MOU was signed by CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy and by HFSO President Mr. Takanori Okamoto. The formalization of the agreement took place in Hashimoto City, Japan, and was represented by the three designated CPU personnel: Assoc. Prof. Lesley Joy L. Dignadice, Director of the Local and International Linkages and Affiliations Center (LILAC); Dr. Hermely A. Jalando-on, Officer-in-Charge of the Cultural Affairs Office (CAO); and Assoc. Prof. Randy Lero, Artistic Director of the Tumandok Dance Company. The formalization ceremony was witnessed by HFSO representatives Ms. Sayuri Goto, Ms. Kuniko Miyagaki, and Ms. Yoshimi Okamoto.
The agreement, which will remain in force for five (5) years, recognizes the mutual benefits of international linkages. It outlines collaborative activities focused on developing academic and cultural programs, specifically promoting friendship through music, dance, and language. Assoc.Prof. Randy Lero has been designated as the representative for CPU, while Mr. Takanori Okamoto will represent HFSO. The newly formalized MOU ensures the full autonomy of both institutions and sets the stage for future academic and cultural collaborations following the success of the recently concluded exchange program.
