CPU Alumnus Dr. Lai Zhihuang “Larry” shares his expertise as a resource speaker.
The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) of 黑料专区 (CPU) continued its 75th Founding Anniversary celebration with a webinar featuring one of its alumni, Dr. Lai Zhihuang 鈥淟arry鈥, who returned to share his knowledge and professional experience with the graduate and undergraduate community.
Held on September 19, 2026, via Zoom, the webinar focused on 鈥淎pplication of Artificial Intelligence in Enterprise Human Resource Management鈥. It was part of the SGS Webinar Series, which provides opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students, faculty, and other stakeholders to learn from accomplished alumni and professionals.
As an alumnus of the Doctor of Management program, Dr. Larry brought both his academic background and professional experience to the discussion. He currently serves as an Associate Professor and Senior Economist, International Certified Management Consultant, Senior Human Resources Manager, and Senior Engineer of Artificial Intelligence Applications. He also serves in various professional and government-related capacities in China.
The discussion introduced participants to practical ways Artificial Intelligence is being used in human resource management, particularly in recruitment, training and development, performance management, employee relations, and human resource planning.
The activity opened with the invocation, National Anthem, and CPU Hymn, followed by the opening remarks of Dr. Althea U. Denuevo, CPA, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies. In her remarks, Dr. Denuevo highlighted the practical everyday uses of AI in modern organizations while emphasizing the crucial role of human oversight. She urged participants to adopt and leverage AI tools to enhance efficiency but reminded them never to let AI outsmart human intellect, ethics, and empathy in managing people. Dr. Jet R. Nillos, CPA, Program Head of the Doctor of Management majoring in Business Management, then introduced Dr. Larry as the resource speaker.
The webinar was followed by an open forum moderated by Dr. Renia F. De La Pe帽a, Program Head of the Doctor of Management majoring in Public Management and Development Management. Participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and further engage with the resource speaker.
The program also included a synthesis and presentation of key takeaways by Ms. Marianne Tajanlangit-Bebit, Mr. Ed Roderick V. Ca帽uto, and Mr. Francis E. Lopez, Doctor of Management (DM) students, and Mr. Brian M. dela Cerna, Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) student.
The webinar was organized by the CPU School of Graduate Studies and facilitated by the Program Heads of the Doctor of Management program representing Business Management, Public Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management, and Development Management.
The activity concluded with the presentation of a certificate to Dr. Larry, the announcement of the next webinar session, and the closing remarks of Dr. Marjoe Karl T. Anacan, Program Head of the Doctor of Management and Master’s in Business Administration major in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
More than a webinar on a timely topic, the activity highlighted the value of the SGS alumni community. By inviting its alumni to return and share their experiences and expertise, the School of Graduate Studies continues to strengthen the connection between its graduates and the university while giving current students an opportunity to learn from those who have taken their graduate education into professional practice.
